Schindler selected for Moscow's Mirax Plaza
Press Release
Schindler has been chosen to provide mobility solutions for the two towers of Moscow's most impressive new development – the Mirax Plaza.
Schindler is to provide 26 high-performance Schindler 7000 elevators for the Plaza, which is located between the prestigious Kutuzovsky Prospect and the Moscow River.
Lying 5km east of Moscow's historic center, Mirax Plaza is situated in what is known as the "Big City" development - an initiative to develop the area into a business zone to rival those of Europe. The area's other landmark is the Federation Tower, Europe's highest building, also served by Schindler.
Once complete in 2009, Mirax Plaza will consist of a podium housing luxury shops and restaurants, alongside the two towers, of 47 and 41 storeys, containing offices and upmarket residential apartments.
Access to offices and apartments will be provided by the Schindler elevators in the towers, traveling at speeds of up to eight metres per second. They will be controlled by SchindlerID, a state-of-the-art personalized access-control system, which facilitates indoor mobility by grouping passengers according to their destination and reducing the number of journeys overall, saving energy and travel time.
The Schindler elevators will be equipped with E-Vision, an elevator multi-media system, integrating customized information and entertainment. Content comes in the form of text, images and sound and can be customized to the building occupants' needs.
The Mirax Plaza is the latest success in Schindler's impressive portfolio of high-rise developments. Testifying to the company's excellent capabilities in this segment are the ICC Tower, Hong Kong's tallest building (490m); World Trade Center, Beijing's tallest (333m); the Torre Espacio (220m) in Madrid (Spain) and, as mentioned, Europe's highest, the Federation Tower in Moscow (448m).
